Building Issues

The Executive Committee met with Building Manager Lucio Pedraza on November 19, 2012:

1. The frequently-breaking west side door on the ground floor will be replaced.

2. There are new Community Room rules to minimize noise and ensure that the tenant who rents the room is responsible for what happens there.  A copy of the rules - written into the contract for renting the community room - will be given to the tenant and to the doorman on duty during the event.

3. Obstacles in the hallways:  leaving cardboard boxes and umbrellas in the hallways is a hazard if you or your neighbors need to rush out.  People who don't expect to find things there may trip over them.  And the building staff is not responsible for bringing trash left in the hallway either to the compactor room on your floor or downstairs.  If the item is too big to fit in the compactor room on your floor, please bring it to one of the two compactor rooms on the ground floor: they're open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

4. Marijuana smoke in the stairwells is upsetting many tenants - particularly those whose apartments are next to the stairs.  Stellar can only take action if there's a police report.

5. If you think you have bedbugs, please contact Lu Pedraza for an inspection.  If you don't deal with it promptly, you could be evicted.
Stellar will remove infested furniture properly and send an exterminator twice, two weeks apart (more if the infestation is bad).  See the NYC Guide to dealing with bedbugs
